A-OMS: A Program Overview
Automation is key to high throughput, low risk manufacturing processes. At a high level, the goal of this program was to increase throughput potential and drastically improve measurement confidence, all while removing a human operator from the equation. This prototype instrument reflects thousands of hours of careful work by dedicated engineers and is a substantial step towards achieving the program’s high level goals. This instrument also represents a push into a new space for Optikos: Highly reliable, complex, and fast mechatronic systems. As the lead mechanical engineer for this instrument, my goal has been not only to deliver an outstanding product to our customer, but to use this opportunity to develop new capabilities for my team and to push the boundary of what Optikos is capable of in the automation space.
